The Feral Whisperer brings with him over 50 years of personal experience as a pest controller and is supported by a team of talented specialists that each bring a high level of experience and individual skill in the field of vertebrate pest control.

Every member of the Feral Whisperer team is trained and professionally qualified to handle any feral pest problem. Our qualifications include:

- Senior and Advanced First Aid training (including massive hemorrhage and trauma care)

- Advanced risk assessment and WHS training.

- Venomous reptile catch and release training.

- Remote wilderness survival training.

- Advanced 4x4 driving and recovery training.

- Professional training in the use of firearms to humanely cull pest animals.

Meet the team

Eric Cope
The Feral Whisperer

Eric entered the Pest Control industry in the mid - 1960's. Since that time, he has worked in both the invertebrate and vertebrate pest control sectors and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and skill to the organisation. 

 

Eric has surrounded himself with first class team of vertebrate pest controllers and other industry professionals who together form what is arguably one of the most experienced teams of feral pest controllers in the country.

Laurie Luntungan
Feral Pest Controller

Laurie comes to us from a background in professional scuba diving as the Feral Whisperer's Workplace Health and Safety and First Aid officer. When conducting high profile shooting programs, Laurie takes on the role of Shoot Controller, ensuring the safety of the public and her crew through the use of comprehensive shoot plans and safety routines.

 

With Laurie’s advanced First Aid, Workplace Health & Safety, 4x4 and wilderness survival qualifications she is invaluable when tackling operations across tough terrain.

 

Tracking and remote camera surveillance are a speciality of Laurie, who takes care of managing our on-site camera monitoring.

Alex Addison
Feral Pest Controller

Alex is one of the Feral Whisperer's pest control specialists. Alex is skilled in utilising humane trapping equipment such as soft-catch leg hold and cage traps in conjunction with 1080 and Pindone baiting to achieve a positive outcome.

 

Fully trained in senior first aid including massive hemorrhage and trauma management, remote wilderness survival and 4x4 use he leads and manages our team members into operations across the toughest terrain. Alex is professionaly trained in the use firearms and licenced for vertebrate pest control. He is a valued member of our team.

Slade Macklin
Feral Pest Controller

Slade, together with his specially trained canines have been invaluable to the Feral Whisperer in identifying and searching for areas that harbour pest animals, and the animals themselves.

 

Slade  has been training dogs for detection work for the last five years. The dogs have been deployed in a variety of roles including USAR (urban search & rescue) and pest species detection.

 

Slade brings to this organisation a wealth of knowledge with over 15 years experience in the areas of animal welfare, law enforcement and vertebrate pest management.

Neville Burns
Consulting Herpetologist

Neville Burns has been involved with reptiles since he was a small boy. A passionate hobby led to a lifetime of working with reptiles particularly in the field of public education through shows , lectures and demonstrations in many venues across Australia.

 

Neville has appeared on many television programmes including Live at Five, Good morning Australia with Gordon Elliot, Who Dares Wins, Current Affair Summer edition, Totally Wild, Talk to the Animals and Qantas in-flight films. He has produced several educational D.V.D’s; 'Venomous and Harmless Snakes', 'It’s Time to Cut the Crap - The Truth About Australian Snakes', and 'Blue Mountains Snakes'. He has carried out over 1,000 lectures in schools and colleges and was the first person ever permitted to show live crocodiles in N.S.W. Government schools.

 

He was the chief presenter at the Australian Reptile Park before accepting the position of Reptile Curator at the Australian Wildlife Park at Wonderland Sydney where he worked until the closure of the park.
